Encoding
Owing
to the intellectual property issues relating to mp3, we are unable to
bundle an mp3 encoder with our products.
However, you can still give YOM products the ability to enocde to mp3
by installing the LAME mp3 encoder. As many other sources
will tell you, contrary to its name, the LAME encoder is a high quality
and fast mp3 encoder and has bee in use in commercial environments for
years.
It is quite possible that you already have LAME installed as other
software providers frequently distribute it. If YOM products
give you the option of saving to mp3, then obviously you don't need to
take any furth action. If not, then perform the following
steps.
To install LAME:
- Download LAME
- Open the zip file and extract the
file lame_enc.dll to
your System directory, typically C:\Windows\System32
- Restart any YOM products running.
